The Tempe Chamber Foundation carries out the charitable and education objectives of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce that positively impact the quality of life in Tempe through education, economic development, research and community enhancement programs and services.
Tempe Leadership is a program of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and more than 700 diverse, dedicated individuals have participated in Tempe Leadership since its inception in 1985. Tempe Leadership brings together community-minded individuals in the community to engage and challenge one another, learn more about the ins and outs of Tempe, and most importantly, make a real difference in our community.
Tempe Leadership also offers the Tempe Youth Leadership program that mirrors the adult program and provides a unique leadership opportunity for sophomores and juniors living or attending school within the City of Tempe. Tempe Youth Leadership fosters leadership skills, community involvement, collaboration, and the development of future leaders within Tempe.
In 1991, Tempe Leadership started Tempe Cares, the community’s signature annual volunteer event. Through the Tempe Cares day of service, hundreds of Tempe residents, employees, students, businesses and organizations join organizes citizen volunteers to reduce blight and improve the appearance of Tempe’s neighborhoods and community spaces. With hundreds of Tempe residents, employees, students, businesses and organizations joining forces to improve the community and show how much they care.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we are moving our internship placement timeframe from the summer to fall 2020. We look forward to another successful year of Career Ready Tempe this fall and we appreciate your continued support.
Career Ready Tempe is a youth-workforce pilot program, funded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Career Readiness Lab Grant and the City of Tempe’s Innovation Fund. The program aims to prepare Tempe youth to participate in the future workforce and to develop the youth-talent pipeline in the City of Tempe so that it aligns with industry needs.
