DoorDash, Tempe Chamber of Commerce, and City of Tempe Partner To Launch Local Business Workshop

Registration is now open for a free, one-day workshop for Tempe small business owners

Tempe, AZ — DoorDash, Tempe Chamber of Commerce and the City of Tempe today opened registration for the Local Business Workshop — a free, one-day, in-person training on September 10 designed to help businesses grow.

The Workshop provides local small business owners with hands-on training on DoorDash tools and advertising, education on new AI-powered tools, direct connections to local business support organizations, and networking with peers all in a single day. It builds on DoorDash’s Accelerator for Local Businesses which has supported more than 400 small businesses nationwide since 2021.

The Workshop series is part of DoorDash’s Unlocking Main Street campaign, which aims to make it easier
for small businesses to open and grow in the U.S.

“When we invest in Tempe's small business owners, we're investing in the future of this city,” said Corey Woods, Mayor of Tempe. “This collaboration with DoorDash and the Tempe Chamber of Commerce gives entrepreneurs a direct line to the support they need to thrive.”

“Helping local businesses navigate growth is at the core of what we do, and this Workshop brings that support to life in a hands-on way,” said Robin Arredondo-Savage President and CEO. “It's a chance for our members to gain new tools and forge connections that will serve them well beyond a single day.”

“Small business owners shouldn’t have to fight through red tape just to access the support that’s meant to help them,” said Kierra Phifer, Head of West Public Policy for DoorDash. “Alongside Mayor Woods and the Tempe Chamber, we’re helping connect local entrepreneurs with resources that can support their businesses, so they can spend less time navigating bureaucracy and more time growing.”

Registration for the Tempe Workshop is open. Eligible businesses must be independently owned, operate a
brick-and-mortar storefront, and have three or fewer locations.
