Minimum Wage Ballot Advances, Net Metering Withdrawn

Senator Debbie Lesko (R-Peoria) and the solar industry announced that they will both withdraw their respective ballot efforts on net metering policy. HCR2014 (minimum wage), a Republican-supported measure to increase the state’s minimum wage, passed out of the Senate Thursday with a vote of 20-9 and was sent to the House for approval.

Sick Leave Mandate Will Hurt Tempe

The Tempe Chamber is opposed to adding this forced sick leave pay mandate to businesses for many reasons, but first and foremost because it will place Tempe businesses at a disadvantage in the region, increasing their costs relative to the competitor down the street, or in some cases, across the street.
